Urban Regeneration "Hypothesis or Reality?" - OICE Atlas and Agenda

The Agenda and Atlas - curated by Patrizia Polenghi who coordinated an operational working group for one year, with the participation of Fatima Alagna, Umberto Bloise, Cristiano Cavallo, Francesca Federzoni, Emanuele Gozzi, Giovanni Kisslinger, Valter Macchi, Eugenio Pizzaghi, Cristina Tardivo, Sara Valaguzza, Lorenzo Vignono - are both dynamically navigable by clicking directly on the buttons on the page. They reflect OICE's work on urban regeneration, aiming to serve as methodological guide for regenerative processes and identifying a format that allows addressing different territories with elements of homogeneity that clearly represent OICE's identity, method, approach, and vision.

Among the topics highlighted are the availability of areas and the cost impact, which takes on a decidedly different weight compared to a traditional intervention on a land free of buildings and previous activities.

The strategic role that holders of large disused assets to be reallocated on the market has been highlighted, as they become protagonists in the construction of the intervention proposal, preferably in relation to territorial actors and consistent with the needs expressed by different contexts. Consideration has been given to the levers that enabled the start of the regenerative process in places that are often, precisely due to abandonment, perceived as unsafe, where renewed relationships can arise from the qualification of public space through the use of temporary activities and cultural initiatives.
