Annual Conference in Rome Oice/EFCA May 26-28, 2010. The Climate Change and a new Energy Balance in Europe: the Engineering Challenge


OICE and EFCA, in the beautiful and historic Trastevere district of Rome, organized the 2010 consulting engineering conference about the theme "Climate Change and a new Energy Balance in Europe: the Engineering Challenge". European engineering consultancy firms play an important role in implementing the EU's energy and climate change targets. The business-oriented programme explored innovation in alternative energy technologies against the backdrop of global challenges, and discussed where future investments will be directed in order to restructure the energy supply and increase the energy efficiency of consumption. An international selection of experts and top managers from the public and private sector, together with officials from the European Commission and the Italian Government, assured that the conference was both inspiring and informative. The OICE president Braccio Oddi Baglioni reiterated the fundamental Safety Agency's role, about the nuclear restart. The EFCA president, Panos Panagopoulos, remarked the engineering company's importance to verify the applicability, costs of construction and operation of various energy sources in the future.

Beside of the formal sessions, there were numerous networking opportunities. The full programme of meetings and events ran from 26-28 May, with the conference which was held on 28th May.
